Dr. Carrie Kaiser earned a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon. At NCNM she was trained as a primary health care practitioner with emphases in nutrition, botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and lifestyle counseling. Dr. Kaiser is thoroughly trained in western medicine—including physical diagnosis and laboratory evaluation of health and disease. With her training, she is able to address many health concerns including, but not limited to, gastrointestinal complaints, endocrine disorders, musculoskeletal pain, allergies, stress, anxiety, and disease prevention.
Dr. Kaiser believes deeply in the naturopathic principles: always treat the whole person, look for the cause of disease and strive to stimulate the patients’ own healing ability. She spends significant time researching and evaluating all cases in an effort to find the best medicines and treatment approach for each individual. As a person she is a great listener, deeply spiritual, kind, and honest.
Dr. Kaiser is Board Certified by the North American Board of Naturopthic Examiners and is currently licensed by the State of California as a primary care physician.
Prior to attending NCNM, Dr. Kaiser learned a lot about "naturopathic medicine" simply be being treated by her mother - who knows how to heal what ails ya. Dr. Kaiser was a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1989-1992, during which time she learned much about how to treat injuries and illness without the benefit of a local emergency room, medication or even a doctor. After the Peace Corps she spent many years as an Emergency Medical Technician riding ambulances in rural Minnesota and then the inner city of Chicago, eventually settling in an ER in St. Louis while she completed her Masters degree. She was finally catapulted into naturopathic medicine after working for a few years as a surgical technician in an inner-city Chicago hospital. Throughout, it just seemed like there was another way.
